Places to go: Pet Parks

Take your furry friends out to enjoy some weekend fun in one of the city’s many pet-friendly parks. Here are some great recommendations from PET-A-HOOD.

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has added 35 "Inclusive Park for Pets" in various districts of Hong Kong starting from 6 February, providing additional pet facilities, such as dog excreta collection bins and hand washing facilities, in response to the raising needs for pet friendly location in the society. Check out the following link for details and facilities of each Pet Park in Hong Kong: Pet Park Listing. Remember to leave a review on the page to share your and your furry kid’s experience.

Located in Tseung Kwan O, Wan Po Road Pet Garden is the largest pet park in the district. The park has plenty of green space and pet-friendly facilities, including pet activity areas, pet toilets, dog excreta collection bins, pet washing facilities, as well as sheds, benches, and turf areas. However, this Pet Garden may be slightly difficult to access, it takes about a 30-minute walk from the nearest MTR station – Lohas Park MTR station. It is recommended to take a taxi to get there. There is also a parking lot outside the park.

Address: Wan Po Road, Tseung Kwan O

Area: 4,000 square meters

Located underneath Kong Sham Western Highway in Tuen Mun, Lam Tei Pet Garden is equipped with a lot of pet-friendly facilities, such as pet excreta collection bins and pet toilets. Different from other pet parks, it has a large sand pool, dogs can enjoy playing in the sand even if it’s not a beach day! However, as the Pet Garden is located underneath a highway, there is a certain level of noise which makes it a bit disturbing during a beautiful day.

Address: the junction of Castle Peak Road and Wong Kong Wai Road (underneath the Kong Sham Western Highway)

Area: 2,772 square meters

Opening hours: 24 hours daily

The 500-metre promenade is lined with grassy patches and it is equipped with an arbour, benches and dog excreta collection bins.
